I was contacted by an Austrian journalist who did an interview with Vanguard’s Gerry O’Reilly, the man who manages the world’s largest mutual fund, for a portrait session.

O’Reilly, originally from Ireland, seemed to take our shoot in stride while being burdened with managing $800B in total assets. His accent, fully Americanized at this point, couldn’t hide his friendly and approachable Irish demeanor. While his buddies tore into him while we shot in front of his trading desk we popped of some casual pictures. We later ventured outside to shoot on Vanguard’s campus for some formal headshots. Even though Vanguard’s CEO was in the background about 20 feet away, we managed to grab some great pics.
